How to Remove the Trusted Root Key

If you move a Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 client from one hierarchy to a different hierarchy and to a site that does not have the schema extended for Configuration Manager 2007, you must remove the trusted root key before moving the client to the new site or the client will not trust the management point at the new site and will not receive policy.

To remove the trusted root key

  • On the client computer, run CCMSetup RESETKEYINFORMATION = TRUE.
