Some people might disagree with me but I believe that being certified is a good thing. I’m A+ certified and I also believe that all IT staff should be certified with A+! Some will ask the question of why, A+ is a certificate for everyone. This is particularly true for a SMS / ConfigMgr or MOM / OpsMgr Administrator.
As a System Center Admin you will need to be able to deploy OS images, Understand OpsMgr Alert, Deploy software packages, etc. all of these task require you to know about the underlying hardware and therefore having passed the A+ certification is a good thing. To Quote CompTIA’s website about A+ Certification:
CompTIA A+ certification validates the latest skills needed by today’s computer support professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification recognized by major hardware and software vendors, distributors and resellers. CompTIA A+ confirms a technician’s ability to perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. The exams also cover domains such as security, safety and environmental issues and communication and professionalism.
Now having said that, Here are a few resources that you can used to become A+ certified.

And for those of you who think having is beneath you then try out a few of the free quizzes and then say that. If you get 95% or better then I agree with you however it still would not hurt to get the certification and if you don’t then time to start studying.
